Pros and cons of The Aviation Herald app for iPhone and iPad

The Aviation Herald app good for

AV Herald is an unprecedenced source of information about aviation incidents, that many airliners have bookmarked for good reasons. Actually I bought the App in order to support Simons fantastic job with his website. But now Im happy to have the App. Works well, and is one of the Apps, that not simply are a mirror of their homepage, but add true value for use on a mobile device. The App contains all the important features of AVH Home, as are daily reports, fotos - and comments, but is much more compact and comfortable to use, than the browser version would be on a mobile device. Can only recommend the App. Im aware that my review may sound like advertising. But I cant do much about it, since it is really good stuff.
Simon is doing a great job with his website. And so is the new App. Easy to navigate thru, flat design reduced to the essentials. But everything is there, what one need for a quick overview, dont really miss any feature. Works excellent and fast. The App is worth every cent, and also a way to support Simons work.
While 12€ seems much, Simons AVherald is one off the most important aviation newsfeeds for me as a pilot to keep up with safety related developments in aviation. I really like it to have an app now for this and hope it will be further developed to even sport more and more useful information - great start!
No colour code system, would be nice to have also in the APP for quick overview.
avherald is the goto site for rational information about airplane incidents. Good antidote against the sensationalism in the media. This app presents the information in a way that is useful on a mobile device. You buy the app to get this, but also to support Simon in his relentless fight for the truth about aviation security. Would give six stars if it had notifications...
Selectable push notifications would be nice. Regarding crash or Report or incident etc.

Some bad moments

I am an aviation herald fan and although 13 dollars is steep I think its a great contribution to the site and Simons work. Everyone should download this app! It also works great and is better than the website!
The Aviation Herald is a great, fantastic resource. Support them via this app, which is super easy to use and read all their great coverage. It would be nice if the app would let you enter comments without sending you to the website, but that is a minor complaint.
AV Herald is the best source for commercial aviation accident/incident. I hope this APP keep being developed and updated.
Decided to buy the app, mostly to show my support for Simon!!! His thrive for accuracy and informing the public should be applauded and supported!!! Id like to see the app show each item including the pictures (and maybe videos), plus comments on one page; like the web site, rather than pressing a button. The flight path and maybe airport diagrams, approach plates could be optional via a button. Also, Id recommend to have the app save email and nickname for comments (unless it already does). Keep up the great work! Cheers, Tom
I was Leary of the cost, but realized how inexpensive it is given the content. I will be donating monthly as well. Thanks, Simon
Its a wonderful native app that displays the latest news and info without having to run Safari. Best of all, it supports Simon and his excellent website providing the latest news on the happenings of aviation incidents and accidents. The content is always updated daily with new fresh incidents - and continuous updates to older ones, final accident report releases and such. Its a very fair price to pay for the value I receive as an aviation nerd on the latest incidents and events. Also, the comments are often helpful though highly speculative. At any rate: its an invaluable resource. While you can get it for free on your iPhone web browser, the native app makes things much simpler, and supports the operating costs of the site. So, Bravo! Thank you Simon Hradecky for all your hard work, and Im glad I have the opportunity to support you in this manner - while you add value to me.
